My Design Philosophy

I believe that design happens as a result of the overlap of art, science, and technology. Just like the three primary colors (red, yellow, and blue) allow the creation of infinite hues, art, science, and technology gives design endless possibilities. I also think of design as a stool with three legs which are function, aesthetics, and sustainability. Good design has to maintain a balance between those criteria.

DESIGN

Fine Arts
Fine Arts

I was blessed to study at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo, Egypt. It included different Fine Arts departments that enriched my experiences and polished my skills.

Drawing

I enjoy drawing as a means of communicating my design ideas using different media.

Hand Crafts

I learned to use stained glass and mosaic to design custom made interior elements.

Product Design

I acquired the knowledge required to design and implement a prototype of a product using different materials.

Manual Presentation
Techniques
Manual Presentation Techniques

I developed my manual presentation techniques during my undergraduate years of education. I believe that this a unique skill that is given adequate attention from the Faculty of Fine Professors.

Manual Drafting

These are examples of manual drafting of plans of an apartment that I designed its interiors.

Manual Rendering

These are examples of my manual rendering of elevations, sections, and perspective shots of my designs using gauche colors.

Computer
Aided
Design
Computer-Aided Design

I used different design software at different stages of the design process such as Autocad, Sketch-up, and Photoshop.

Computer-Aided Design

These are examples of my designs for public and private spaces using different design support tools. I start by using Autocad to have a clear representation of my plans. Then I select one of the 3D modeling software to build the model of my designed spaces. Eventually, I use Photoshop to do some retouches for the final views.

Graduation
Project
Graduation Project

I chose to design a SPA resort for my graduation project. I designed the exterior and the interior spaces from scratch inspired by the form of the bubble.

Plans

I used mixed media to design and present my graduation projects. I drew the plans using Autocad and manually rendered the master plan as shown in the first picture.

Sections

I manually rendered the sections using the airbrush and gauche colors.

Animated Walk-through
Mixed
Media
Mixed Media

I had a diploma in Computer Graphics for Media Production right after my graduation from the Faculty of Fine Arts. In this diploma, I learned basic IT concepts and used multiple design software such as Maya, Illustrator, and Premiere.

Illustrations

I used Adobe Illustrator to design a poster, an invitation, a CD, and a CD cover to match the theme of my graduation project.

Short Animated Movie

In addition, I used my graduation project as an inspiration for the animated movie that I created using Maya software.

Virtual Reality
Virtual Reality

I worked with one of my colleagues to design and build a virtual building in Second Life.

Virtual Building Design & Animation

While working on an internship in an E-Learning Company, our task was to design and build and e-campus on second life.

Agent-Based Modeling
Agent-Based Modeling

I used Anylogic software to implement the agent-based model that I developed for my Ph.D. dissertation.

Agent-Based Model Demonstration

Anylogic is a software that utilizes object-oriented modeling. I was able to learn basic programming skills and implemented the agent-based model according to the interdisciplinary conceptual model that I proposed in my Ph.D. research.
